Updating!... (8/7/13)

I'm reconstructing from the photos I took and my Facebook statuses. Luckily, I Facebook allowed me to download my data and I can get back up to speed. Pray it will be done by the end of the month, or by mid-September. At least before school gets in full swing. Sorry, everyone!!  I'm removing the gallery and adding the photos (over 500!!) directly to their respective entries. It'll be simpler and more efficent for you!

Testing 1..2..3!

09/30/2012 03:21
Hi! It's me here at 3:21 in the morning. I have a dozen other things I should be working on, including sleep, but I decided to begin to put together my blog for South Korea. Six months early.  Yes, yes, I've counted the eggs before the hens've even laid them!   Update: November 17,...

The Study Abroad Process

11/02/2012 15:17
While I am waiting for February 27th to roll around, I thought I might as well talk about the process of how I got accepted to Ewha Womans University. I will be as specific as possible, but still withholding some details, just because I'm not sure I should reveal them. CAUTION: This process is not...

In The Interim

12/08/2012 17:50
I should learn Korean before leaving the US. I don't want to hop off the plane and be lost in translation. That would suck. Since October, I've been trying to find a suitable program. Rosetta Stone's out, because I don't have $300+ in my back pocket and native Koreans say that it is largely...

In The Interim—Part 2

12/26/2012 19:18
It is the day after Christmas. I found a job, and a second one's lined up. Is too rude to say that I'm ready to go? Being home is fun and all, but you know, once I went to college, staying at home for longer than a week feels constricting. Some of my freedom is gone because it is my parents house...

In The Interim—Part 3

01/31/2013 11:22
I'm not a shopaholic. If anything, I'm a go-in-get-out kind of shopper. I have a list, and I stick to it, unless there's a particularly delicious looking food item or electronic. But since this will be the first time I have ever left the east coast, country, and continent, I'm going to do some...

The Third Time Should Be The Charm

02/01/2013 11:14
Last night Ewha sent an email saying that the English-speaking course catalog for the spring is live. Goodie! Thankfully, I've picked out the courses and matched them to Queens' for credit. Or so I thought.   I have a growing patch of grey hairs now. Seriously. Four+ strands is no joking...

Preparation

02/24/2013 10:00
I forgot to mention that my mom, aunt, and I took a trip to the Richmond International Airport a few weeks ago. The last time I was there was when I was four in daycare. For some reason, we took a trip there, although it was probably to the air museum out front, because I recall running up and down...

The Journey—Part 1

02/27/2013 17:15
I apologize for not telling people sooner that I am alive, but now I have a power transformer and a slightly less foggy brain. Now I can begin writing about my experience in Korea! Writing in first person is fun and all (not), so I am going to write in third person. Typing "I did this" and "I did...

The Journey—Part 2

03/01/2013 10:39
So that last entry was a bit too long. I'll try to only highlight significant points from now on.   After less than two hours, the little plane skidded to a halt in the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Jasmine hurried off as soon as the stewardess allowed us to unbuckle our seat...

Night One

03/01/2013 10:51
This night deserves a short mention on its own, it was so different and disorienting, on top of feeling the affects of the plane.   After dragging my stuff into the room, I've managed to end up with the left side of the room again. The first thing I am in need of is a shower after wearing a...
